
TaiChi & QigongQigong (pronounced “chee-gung”) is an ancient Chinese discipline that emphasizes breathing, meditation, stationary poses and movement. Its purpose is to enhance the flow of energy, or chi throughout the body. The combination of breath and sensory awareness, relaxation techniques and exercise is said to build chi and tone muscles, increase circulation and improve well being. Tai Chi is an advanced form of Qigong that involves moving in a flowing, continuous manner from one posture to the next resembling swimming gracefully through the air. Although originally practiced as a martial art, it is now widely practiced for its health enriching benefits.
