About DavidI have always loved to move. Growing up I involved myself with many athletic activities from running to playing basketball to hiking and canoeing. As a young man living in Miami, Florida in the 1970's I discovered a group doing Tai Chi together in a bay front park at sunrise. Joining them I became hooked. It was fortunate for me that the teacher had been a student of the great master Cheng Man-ching. At that time I was also introduced to Buddhist meditation, yoga and Sufism. During that period I had the good fortune to be taken under the wings of a Taoist master who further deepen my understanding of Life through martial arts and natural meditation. In the 1980's I moved to Pennsylvania where I continued to study Tai Chi as well as Qigong. Always interested in how movement affects the mind/body interaction, I began studying the Feldenkrais method. It was during a workshop that I met Betty Fuller, the original student of the late body/mind pioneer Milton Trager. Watching Betty do a Trager session awakened within me the joy of integrating movement with skillful touch. I became certified as a TragerĀ® practitioner in 1985 and have been in private practice ever since. I am also an introductory workshop leader of the Trager Approach which has allowed me to reach hundreds of people, mostly massage therapists, and introduce them to an approach of living more pleasurably in their bodies while being open to the possibility of more and more freedom. During that same period I began studying with the master teacher Chungliang Al Huang, a friend of Milton Trager. Through studying with Al and later teachers such as Roger Jahnke I began to teach classes though community education centers, wellness departments and retirement communities. In 2002 I was inspired to put together a program integrating my love of Tai Chi, Qigong, Trager movement, Taoist self-massage and meditation. Called the Twenty-Minute Body/Mind Routine-Tai Chi and Qigong for Busy People, the class has now been taught to hundreds of people and the companion DVD has reached hundreds more. Currently I live and work in upstate New York where I teach at community education programs and am
